Newest Soprillo improvements
Question: Newest Soprillo improvements 1 Attachment(s) Benedikt Eppelsheim has recently improved the Soprillo (Piccolo soprano in Bb - one octave higher than the standard Bb soprano saxophone). Some subtle changes in the octave mechanism have made the highest notes easier. Also, the keys now have pearls (real ones!) that make the horn very attractive, and it now looks more like a tiny soprano with a tipped bell. The latest addition is a larger thumb rest that makes the saxophone feel more secure, even without a neck strap. Photo posted below: Sound clip (Soprillo plays lead): My MYSPACE MUSIC page: Answer: Ok that is cool. Answer: That is cool, like jewelry. My steam-operated computer won't play the sound! Thanks for the thread. Answer: wow, i like it. if i knew how to get one, or even had the money, id get one right away.8-) (nice wma clip too) Answer: Ya know, if you don't leave your horns out in the rain, they won't shrink like that.;) Answer: How much do one of those cost? They sure have some crazy horns on their website. Answer: Cost of a soprillo If you email Benedikt Eppelsheim, he will send you the price of anything he makes in Euros. He can also give a good estimate of shipping. Any currency conversion website will give you the current value in US Dollars. I don't think Eppelsheim has raised his prices but actual cost has gone up because the value of the dollar is down. I've forgotten what customs fees are, something like 4-5%, but it's comparable to state sales tax in a lot of places. Local delivery to your door is a little bit more but not much. My MYSPACE MUSIC page: Answer: ": Due to its extreme range and the required very firm embouchure only professional players can play the Soprillo. It may take several months of practise to reach the highest notes.":D (I think I will try to play soprano first.) I also like the neck on the Eb contrabass. Looks like something a school teacher in the old days would use to handle unruly students. It's definitely not a starter horn - kind of like tryng to play piccolo before playing flute. My MYSPACE MUSIC page: Answer: Hats off. You sound great on that clip. Thanks. Answer: I like the clip but I'd like to hear it in a more exposed context. i.e with rhythm section :-) Answer: I remembered that the soprillo costs something about 2000 or 3000 euro.. but i'm really not sure. you can hear some more samples here: Answer: You can get one at saxophones.uk for around $2,700 U.S. Answer: Playnig my 'nino is hard enough... I could only imagine with a Soprillo... Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.todayaq.com
