I'M A BEGINNER AND I NEED HELP CHOOSING A GUITAR
Question:  I'm a beginner guitarist (more ameteur to intermediate). I play acoustic guitar, bass, and I want an electric. I really want a Les Paul Studio or Standard. I've heard Ibanez paint is horrible, Washburn is not that great, Taylors are way toooo expensive. I thought an Epi Les Paul would be good because it meets the budget, it really rocks, and it looks great. I'm wanting a guitar somewhere between $100-$400. I want a good all-around guitar. I'm accepting any imputs from better players than me. Answer: What kind of music do you want to play? Rock, country, heavy metal, blues? Answer: Clips to decide if I'm a better player or not? ;) In either event, the Epi LP is a good choice. Are you looking for something to buy in a store and try out or will you be ordering online (I assume some people will recommend agile or similar)? Good luck! Answer: yep, go here: I have a AD2800 it's about as good as it get's without breaking the bank. welcome to HCEG Answer: You''ll never go wrong with a telecaster Answer: <<<<I really want a Les Paul Studio or Standard>>>>> Then save up and get one. <<<<I've heard Ibanez paint is horrible>>>>> Go look at em and decide for yourself. <<<<Washburn is not that great>>>>> Some are, some aint. Like most brands. Go try one. <<<<Taylors are way toooo expensive>>>>> A matter of opinion. Some would say the same for Gibson or lots of others. Try em yourself and decide. <<<<I thought an Epi Les Paul would be good because it meets the budget, it really rocks, and it looks great.>>>> Nothin wrong with a budget Paul if you can't wait. <<<<<I play acoustic guitar, bass, and I want an electric>>>>> Then you ought to be able to try out some and decide what you like. Answer: You''ll never go wrong with a telecaster That was my first guitar, and it's probably my most cherished possession. Answer: I really wanna play rock, blues, and christain music. I also would like to know of any good fx pedals or "modules" (like pod and stuff by line six, doesnt have to be by line six). And fenders are expensive also. Answer: i looked at that website do u really like ur guitar?(rondomusic.com) Answer: I really wanna play rock, blues, and christain music. I also would like to know of any good fx pedals or "modules" (like pod and stuff by line six, doesnt have to be by line six). And fenders are expensive also. go look on Craigslist and find a used Fender Standard Strat, the ones made in Mexico. should run you about $200. then get a 2 humbuckers and a pickguard that's routed for them from . take the whole deal to your local guitar tech and have him install everything and set the guitar up for 10-46 strings. as for FX, get one of those Zoom multi-fx floor controllers. they're a great introduction to fx. Answer: Welcome! Shop around as much as possible before you buy anything. Play everything you can get your hands on and see what you like. Answer: Welcome! Shop around as much as possible before you buy anything. Play everything you can get your hands on and see what you like. I have to agree, don't be in a hurry, learn everything you can about each type of guitar you are looking at. Play a lot of differnt styles of guitars and one will probably pick you. A lot of the time there are floor models that can have pretty big discounts on them, I'd look for that too. Answer: thx for the advice Answer: yep, go here: I have a AD2800 it's about as good as it get's without breaking the bank. welcome to HCEG +1 on rondo! Also if you really want an LP type, the Agile line gets really, really nice at the AL-3000. But if ebony fretboard and Alnico V pups don't matter to you, the lower models are all well made, and they all have their place. For more info see: Answer: The Epi LP is a fine choice. Your budget is too low; the Epi will run $500 new, at least. Agiles (Rondo) are a fine choice, also. Buying used is a good option, if you have access to used instruments. Everyone has an opinion. Mine: stick with humbuckers. Stick with Epiphone or Agile (Rondo.) BIGGEST ADVICE: budget as much for the amp as the guitar. Getting a crappy amp is the #1 newbie mistake. Remember: nobody ever hears your electric guitar; all they ever hear is your amp. I recommend: Fender Blues Junior; about $400 new. Answer: buying your 1st guitar.... i wish i knew about all these forums before my guitar cherry purchase. you may plan to always keep this thing becuase its your 1st electic. dont rush it, you may want too, but take your time. Sounds like your really in the mood for an LP. An Epi would not be a bad choice to get you started. Try as many out as you can, get the one that feels right to you. If you dont know, have someone explain neck radius, neck shape, fret size, and nut width to you, and try to figure out what you actully prefer. I would also recommend trying out, even if you dont really have the intention to buy, all the differnt style guitars (Strat, Tele, Dinky, SG, etc...). You may find a body shape that fits your style or comfort more then you think. some LPs start to feel heavy. pickups and electronics can always be upgraded, or swapped out at any time to suit your preferences. Answer: /....php?t=1987901 This is my new Epi LP Std. Plus! Plays great!!! My first was a black MIM Strat - very good guitar. Bought it back in '92 But go with a Les Paul - Epiphone did a great job on mine and I bet they'll do it on all others too;) Answer: That was my first guitar, and it's probably my most cherished possession. Mine too Answer: Epi LP's pretty good, or get a Cheap squire strat or tele Answer: Go to stores. Order online. I like buying online because I can try out guitars in the quiet of my house not a noisy store where making judgements is more difficult. Most online dealers have very liberal return policies. Take advantage of this. Nothing beats first hand experience. In your range I generally prefer Squiers to Epiphones. I like the feel of their necks and the sound of their pickups as compared to Epiphones. That is me. You may come to a different conclusion. Both are good brands. Take your time ask questions and try not to spend too much time here! ;) Welcome! :) New Guitar Order? beginner electric blue song? NAD (lacquered tweed)? Hey Reverend fans I'm getting one next week.? Who has two speakers for me? NGD Parker NiteFly V2? I need some 12-string strings.? Marvel at my beard? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.todayaq.com
