NGD - Godin content

Question:
Bought this LG P90 for $294 on E-bay - came with the usual cotton duck heavy duty godin bag. Some lunatic drilled a couple of small holes in it for a synth pickup, but they also installed Grover Rotomatics, so I guess I can forgive 'em. Another nice aspect - the strap lugs fit my Schaller straplocks, so I won't have to mod this one with new lugs. I've got to say I really like the P90s on this thing - I've mostly been playing clean and it's got some pretty rich tones (specially neck PU). Also, the fretboard is nice and flat and fast. So, for less than three bills, I feel like I've satisfied my curiosity for the SG classic (same configuration, some wood - all mahogany, better tuners). Anyway, since i know these threads are useless w/o pics:

Answer:
I'm gonna fill the holes with plastic wood, smooth over it with supergule, and get some rubbing compound (there's a bit of pick scratching in the usual place) and get this thing polished up.
Oh, and Shawn - I believe that Godin's newer LGs all have 22 frets whereas the older ones (the SN on mine puts it in Sept 2002) have 24 frets. I'm not sure why they went with the change, but it may have to do with the positioning of the neck PU. Interestingly, the neck PU IS closer to the FB on this guitar than on any I've had before, and I really love the tone from it. Also, I really like the 16in fingerboard radius. I didn't know how that would work, but I'm really loving it.

I've played with a Radiator, LGX-SA (older version and newer), and an LGXT. I'm hoping some extra stuff comes through this summer so that I can have the cash to get an LGX-SA. I want to start experimenting with the synth control/MIDI stuff.
But I've always been impressed with the entire Godin line, from the very bottom to the top. And an LG is in a lot of ways different from what I have now (strat-esque) so I would love to have one for the feel and tonal differences. You lucky dude :thu:

Nice score. I prefer the 22-fret ones, but there's a lot of quality for not much $$ in those Go-dans.

Answer:
Cool John Mclaughlin is using Godin's these days too.
