FRUSTERATED! HELP!

Question:
I've been playing now for about 5 months (after giving up for 15 yrs)
I never really got very good & am not a beginner but not really intermediate either. Maybe a beginning intermediate player?
Anyway I know all the basic chords & my changes are good but for some reason after trying to play the same 5 songs ALL THIS TIME I cant seem to get through it with mucking it up! I got 1 1/2 weeks before I need to perform a song I promised my wife for our anniversary & I want to do it right! Cuz she deserves a good performance even though I know she'll love it no matter what.
Here is the song:
How can do this or any song full on without mistakes!:mad: You'd think after 5 months I have these songs DOWN PAT!

Answer:
Well, something that helps is going through the song slowly. Get the chords right. And practice it as much as you can.
Try this and youŽll have it in no time! :thu:

Answer:
I can't get that link to work so that I can see the song....

Answer:
Your link doesn't work right.
What song is it?

Answer:
use visualization methods...
Sit back with your guitar in your hands... not playing it. Just feel it there. Then visualize yourself playing the song flawlessly over and over. Feel as though you have played it again and again perfectly. Finally, relax. Inhale slowly counting to nine. Hold for four counts. Exhale slowly counting to nine. When inhaling, push out your stomach. When exhaling, draw in your stomach. This is called "belly breathing" and causes the hormone, beta endorphine to be released in your body. It makes you relax, the same thing happens when people smoke cigarettes... it is deep breathing, really. I taught this in martial arts for years.
The visualization helps prepare you to engage in almost any activity. Our olympic atheletes use this technique with bio-feedback methods as part of their training. Our astronauts use it, too. It works.
This will help you relax and you will play better, because seeing it in your mind will help you make it happen.

Answer:
Isolate the parts that go wrong, and practice those slowly, so slowly that you can play them without any mistake. Then try it faster. Probably, it still won't work that day but maybe the next day or the day after that it suddenly will.

How can do this or any song full on without mistakes!:mad: You'd think after 5 months I have these songs DOWN PAT! 5 months is nothing.....performance is so different from just playing. I can play a song to my liking, then try to add vocals and my brain shuts down. Seems like it likes only one or the other at one time. Having said that....Practice the piece until you don't have to think about playing it. Then add the vocals last...You may have to practice the song while you sing to get it right, but play it flawlessly first....even if you have to cheat a bit.
And as others have said...do it slow, really slow, as slow as you can. Get it perfect, then speed it up. Makes a world of difference.

Stress only compounds the blunders.
Best to you and your wife.

Answer:
Learn the chords, focus on how to do the changes and don't worry about getting the rhythm exactly right. The goal should be getting the "bones" of the song arranged correctly and keeping it going along (preferably with a constant tempo.) Accept that you're going to make mistakes but don't obsess over them. If you learn to play through the mistakes you do make - and trust me they will always creep in - trust me you'll be the only one (of any importance*) who notices it.
Again, touching on the rhythm thing - just make your own up. It can be close but not exact or it can be something all your own. Like I said, it's all about your interpretation of it and all that's really important is the effort and emotion you put into it.
