Does any Online Dealer still have Dual-pickup Melody Makers in Worn White?
Question: I've gassed for one since they came out, and with them being so cheap, I'm thinking about taking the plunge. However, I only like the worn white version. Does any online dealer still have worn white Melody Makers in stock? Answer: I was looking for you, haven't found one yet, But check out this YouTube. Looks like it's the single pup version, but he's getting a cool rock tone. I have the one you're looking for an I'd recommend it. I like the dual pup version because I prefer the neck or neck+bridge over just the bridge. But this guy has his amp dialed in pretty cool for the bridge tone. The black one seems to still be in stock everywhere, but it's so boring looking. :( Answer: Answer: The black one seems to still be in stock everywhere, but it's so boring looking. :( I kinda agree, but at least it's a good price at $299 still. I coughed up $380 + 8.4% tax for mine (big $20 off sale ) But I'm surprised the model is disappearing so soon. But I bet you can find one if you keep diggin. Answer: Did only MF and Music123 get the Dual-pup version? Are there any other dealers that carried them? Answer: Come on man, those things are prime candidates for a refinishing! With the worn finish, you don't even have to strip it; just grain fill, sand and spray! You could have the only lake placid blue melody maker in the world! You could have the only lake placid blue melody maker in the world! Yes, I could. However I actually want worn white. :idk: Answer: Did only MF and Music123 get the Dual-pup version? Are there any other dealers that carried them? I just checked Woodwind and Brass, they only have the single pup version. Guitar Center had them, but they're down to just the ebony.:freak: Answer: Yes, I could. However I actually want worn white. :idk: I could have also easily gone "sunburst" but I already had plenty of those kicking around, so the worn white seemed like the best choice for me. Answer: Yes, I could. However I actually want worn white. :idk: I only used that as an example, (being on of my favorite colors) - you actually have UNLIMITED options! I like olympic white a lot. TV Yellow would be cool too. It's just an idea if you can't find the color you like. Ebay is a magical place also. Answer: dang, maybe you should jump on the ebony at $299 before they're gone too. Answer: you could always put a pickup in a single-pickup model too, especially if they are available in the worn white color. Maybe a strat or tele neck pickup, or a P-90, or a charlie christian, a la John Lennon. Answer: i believe the dual pups were exclusive to the Guitar Center-MF-M123 conglomerate. i have both white and black. very cool guitars in my opinion. Maybe a strat or tele neck pickup, or a P-90, or a charlie christian, a la John Lennon. Yeah, but there's no way I'm paying $380 for the single pup version just to start hacking into it. I'll have to think about the black one. I really had my heart set on the worn white though. Answer: Come on man, those things are prime candidates for a refinishing! You could have the only lake placid blue melody maker in the world! :thu: they're going away? crap. guess I'm stuck with the black one. Answer: Shit, I was looking for one of these today too. Guess your only option is eBay. Answer: I just sold mine on eBay (to fund the purchase of a Parker P-36). Did I commit two deadly wrongs in the eyes of my fellow HCEGers? I will tell you that it is a great guitar. Those pickups are excellent, and there are a lot of different tones in that thing. I sold it so as to get the Parker because I like a piezo bridge, prefer a 25 1/2 scale, and wanted a maple board. If you're into 24 3/4 scale, I really believe you'll like the MM. Answer: GAH!!!! well I own a P38 and I like it. But I like my MM too. It just came across as shocking, that's all.... Answer: I wanted the worn white too...but Gibson has (again) discontinued the Melody Maker, So I settled on black AND scrapped my plans for re routing it for a Duncan P-rail and put in a Duncan Li'l Screamin Deamon instead (to keep original, since discontinued Gibson models appreciate an average of 6% per year). I'm thinking about making a new pickguard...maybe white pearl or black pearl...to counteract the "boring" factor. Great sounding and great playing guitar for the money though! Is this a good deal for A 57 Les Paul 350.00? Got a new amp, simplified my rig? Roadster versus Dual Rectifier - what's the difference? Got to use my 10% Ebay coupon . NGD Commeth? "Second hand" guitars? Fender Korea, Mexico, Japan, US.? How do I age a white pickguard? Calling any St. Petersburg/Tampa, FL forum members? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.todayaq.com
