And at $799.00 street price I will be looking at one fairly quickly!!! Answer: I've got wood! I might hafta off my Deluxe in favor of one of those. Answer: Do want! Answer: Why, what's does the Princeton do that the Deluxe doesn't? Answer: Why, what's does the Princeton do that the Deluxe doesn't? its smaller and a better amp than the Blues Jr. Answer: Why, what's does the Princeton do that the Deluxe doesn't? Tremelo, and the ability to crank to 10 in close quarters without dissolving your eardrums. Answer: Tremelo, and the ability to crank to 10 in close quarters without dissolving your eardrums. Well, the Deluxe has tremolo, but yeah, it's the lower wattage that attracts. Even on relatively large stages I never get my Deluxe above maybe 4. Answer: That was a great clip. Very impressive tone, the vintage Tele didn't hurt. Answer: Well, the Deluxe has tremolo, but yeah, it's the lower wattage that attracts. Even on relatively large stages I never get my Deluxe above maybe 4. Bingo..... Answer: Tremelo, and the ability to crank to 10 in close quarters without dissolving your eardrums. Go find a Princeton and crank it to ten and then tell me if your eardrums are dissolved. A princeton is not much less loud than a Deluxe, and I never liked the kind of angry sound Princeton's make when broken up. Besides, a Silverfaced Princeton could be bought and modified to blackface specs for less than the cost of a reissue. Answer: Well, the Deluxe has tremolo, but yeah, it's the lower wattage that attracts. Even on relatively large stages I never get my Deluxe above maybe 4. Deluxes are 22 watts and Princeton's are 15. The logarithmic relationship between wattage means there's not relaly that much of a difference. Answer: Well, the Deluxe has tremolo, but yeah, it's the lower wattage that attracts. Even on relatively large stages I never get my Deluxe above maybe 4. Yeah, I was wondering that after I posted. I get mixed up on what Fender has what. Answer: Deluxes are 22 watts and Princeton's are 15. There's probably 5 dB in difference between them, which your ear can't even really hear. I've played both. Deluxe seems a LOT louder to me. Answer: I've played both. Deluxe seems a LOT louder to me. You do realize that in terms of absolute SPLs, 15w is about ~70% as loud as a 50w? Think of it this way: a 1987 50w Marshall JMP at full bore is only 3db less than a 1959 100w Marshall Plexi at full bore. The only real difference is that the distortion curve is different (in most poeple's ears, better) on the 100w. You're pretty much never gonna be able to "crank" anything at a reasonable level until you're into milliwatts. Answer: I've played both. Deluxe seems a LOT louder to me. its the 12" speaker more than the watts. my Vibro Champs sound like thunder through a larger cabinet. Well, I'm sure you are right, but I am not talking engineering specs, I am talking perceived loudness of amps with stock speakers.
