Epiphone Masterbilt
Question: .....anyone have any experience with this guitar?...... I've still never seen a Masterbilt in stock in any of the music stores around here....very interested in an acoustic/electric gut string guitar..... Answer: You bet. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. It is really pretty impressive for the price. Flawless fit and finish and terrific tone. Amazing for the price. Here's a shot of my DR500R: Answer: .....anyone have any experience with this guitar?...... I have experience with Masterbilts, but I never ran across that particular model. It's probably really nice for the money if it's like the other Masterbilts I played. Answer: here is mine. (thanks for the excuse to show off) I love it, best bang for the buck period. Answer: Love that open headstock. Answer: Masterbilts are generally pretty good (as you can see, they get lots of love around here), but I, like Hud, have never come across the nylon one. I'm interested to hear from anyone who has. Ellen Answer: Ah, crap. Now I have GAS. Bound to happen. EF-500R, AJ-500RC. And I think I'd be set with either one. Man, my taste for Expensive Gits has soured. Answer: I love the way slotheads look, they just always makes me smile inside ;) I always liked the way the Epiphone logo was written too. Ok now I want one two! Damn it! I have to stop looking on this forum! Answer: .....the nylon stringed Epiphone might be a good companion for this 1964 Kalamazoo built Eldorado...... Answer: Over the years, I 've had great sucess with Yamaha and Epiphone, in spite of all the whoopla abut Gibson, Ovation, Martin, and so forth. I get solid construction, great tone, durability, and some "bling" depending on the model chosen. Here's my latest buy (a week ago), that is a EJ 200VS, which is modeled after the SJ200 at 1/3 the price, but NOT 1/3 the quality.... -Soupy1957 Answer: I love my DR500mens, but, I have also never seen the "classical" Masterbilt anywhere. I can't STAND that froufrou pickguard and that ridiculous moustache bridge, but the sunburst finish on that guitar is EXQUISITE! I guess that's what makes horse racing. I just LOVE the pickguard and bridge. They're just holdovers from the 40's when this guitar was so popular with country music players. Now, if that style just came out..then I might not be a fan. But, it's just not a SJ-200 without that bridge and pickguard. I do like the bridge from the older original SJ's better where the "moustache" portion of the bridge is merely carved out and not filled in with MOP. Answer: I've got EF-500RCCE about 3 month ago (wife made a nice birthday present :thu:) . Here it is: cedar top: rosewood back & sides volume control cable input Answer: Ive seen a lot of Masterbilts...but not that one...I would like to though Answer: ....no dealers (that I know of) in western massachusetts area and no recommendations from anyone with knowledge of this guitar.....I might just have to buy one and find out for myself..... Answer: I've got EF-500RCCE about 3 month ago (wife made a nice birthday present :thu:) . Here it is: cedar top: rosewood back & sides that is a seriously fine looking guitar :thu: I suppose I'm quite unfortunate in never having played a Masterbilt  Answer: I played one yesterday. The bass is deifinately different than the Masterbuilt Dreadnaught shape in that it has that woody 000-18 sound. I didnt play it long enough to notice the more subtle differences because I put it down knowing that I couldnt get used to the weird bass sound. Refinishing a VM?
