Seymour Duncan logo on pickups
Question: Were Seymour Duncans sold in the past without the name written on them? I've seen a guitar that claims to have SDs but there is no writing on them. Its a 94 guitar so could it be that there was no writing back then? Answer: There's no writing on the Seymour Duncan pickups used on some Jackson guitars. Answer: It's a Patrick Eggle if that helps. Like the '59 doesn't. I bought a Classic Stack that had the lettering but it practically wiped right off. But the lettering on my PG and CC is real durable. edit: oh and my new Jackson DK2M has lettering on the Jazz and JB. I bought a used Schecter C-1 Classic and I was able to confirm that its gold covered HBs were still Duncans by pulling them up and looking at their bases. They had the Duncan logo on them, but not anything I could find about the model type. Answer: Duncan started putting that ugly logo on around '92-'93-ish. You can get them without, but it usually costs more. I use rubbing compound and a felt buffing wheel on the Dremel in order to remove them. Home Depot to Boston?
