Question: what do you guys think? Answer: Looks very unnatural like someone just buzzed it with sandpaper. Answer: Looks very unnatural like someone just buzzed it with sandpaper. Clean at that... clean sandpaper lines. Answer: Looks very unnatural like someone just buzzed it with sandpaper. :cop: it's O K Answer: It looks ok. I just don't think relic when I think of a Schecter. Fenders Gibsons, Gretch - yes. Schecter - not so much Answer: That's not relic'ing. Hell send it to me, I will tie it to my bumper and drive around the neighborhood. Then it will be relic'd. :) no charge . . . Answer: :( Answer: Does it sound better now? Answer: Lol, that thing is definitely NOT reliced. Answer: well aside from faking a used/abused guitar look being a really dumb idea.... this guitar does not looked like a relic... I don't know if that's a bad thing or a good thing. Really it just looks like you accidentally sand papered it. But I like the guitar!! Answer: Relic-ing is about the stupidest thing you can do to a guitar. Make it earn its marks. Answer: this old thing looks more relic'd! Answer: If thats what you were gonna do you shoulda left it alone... Answer: On one hand, I think relics are stupid.. On the other, I hate MIK/MIC guitars.. So carry on! Break that sombitch in half! That's some REAL wear and tear.. Answer: my roomate has a naturally relic'd schecter Omen. He cleaned it too much and now there's a wear spot in the same place. I think it looks cool, but now he's afraid to play it 'cause he may wear on it some more. Point being, I dig the relic'ing on any guitar, but I think you were a little overzealous (wear mark is too big). Just bang around on the guitar some more from there and I'm sure it will get the character you're looking for. Answer: If you are going to "relic" an instrument, it's work on every part, not just the body. Taking some sandpaper to those knobs to dull them up would be my first suggestion. Then just make an effort to make every part look older. But yeah, a Schecter just isn't a guitar I think of when I think of a "relic." :idk: Answer: So when is the repainting party? Answer: If one was to lightly sand a poly finished guitar will it wear with time? I dont want my guitar to look old when its not, but i do want it to wear after a few years. Answer: When mine get old and dinged, I refinish them. Who would want a beat up old looking guitar anyway? Answer: When mine get old and dinged, I refinish them.
