Question:
I play alot of bar chords, and when I chuck the deadened strings, it makes a loud "thump" noise (when plugged in.) When I tap lightly on the saddle, the thump happens again. I know that tapping on the pickup will cause it to make some noise, but nothing like this. Anyone have any ideas?

That is going to happen with a piezo. Part of how they work.

Like dak says, I think what you're talking about might just be a characteristic of the pickup. However, I don't usually describe the weird sounds piezos make as "thump," so I'm a little curious about how yours actually sounds. Any way you could send us a clip or something?
