How to adjust the pickup heigh in a P90 guitar?
Question: Just got my new guitar that cames with P90's. (a cheap les paul copy) The output of the the neck pickup is higher compared to the one in the bridge, and I need to adjust them. I tryed to mess around with the two center screws on the pickups, but it didn't seem to make a diference in their height. I only did a turn on the screw, cause I was afraid I damage the pickup. What can I do? Answer: do more turns you won't damage the pickup or adjust the pole piece height Answer: On my epi es-295, I bought a mounting ring and put it under the bridge pickup. You need to fabricate a spacer. I wanted mine to look good, so I used a reall p-90 mounting ring. But you can just use cardboard or wood or something to see if it does what you want. Answer: I'm assuming they're soapbars since it's an LP copy. There is usually some kind of foam rubber material under the pickups. Unscrew the 2 mounting screws and remove the pickup. You can put thinner material underneath there to lower it. Some folks put rubber tubing on the screws themselves to act as spacers, you can do that as well. If they are dogears, you can buy spacers from Stew-Mac. They fit under the pickup cover and raise it up from the guitar top. You can't lower a dogear pickup...the only thing to do is screw down the polepieces. Charcoal Frost Metallic Strat Build? My birthday is in TWO days? The Most Versatile Stock Pick Ups On A Guitar?
