Welcome to www.todayaq.com !!!

I have ridiculous Diezel GAS

Question:
and have had so for quite some time (VH4)....I could just almost never justify the price of one though
someone sell me your VH4 on the cheap please:love:

Answer:
I'd also love to try the VH4. Seems like it would be great for super huge sludgy stuff, but also has a lot of versatility.
Though I was recently at a concert where a VH4 was pwned by a 5150... considering the cost difference it was a bit depressing. Though I imagine a lot has to do with how it's dialed in, as with so many other things...

Diezel amps like Framus are very responsive to the players touch and approach.. If you suck at guitar they will only accentuate that.
Having owned both the VH4 and 5150 I can honestly say the the VH4 is much more of an amp then the 5150 in most aspects. The core sound of the peavy is great but Ive never played an amp before that has 4 amazing channels and thats what the VH4 has..

There is just no way I could justify that much for one amp though, its ludacris, I think even more so than the cost of a Gibby LP these days. Their tone is just bitchin to my ears though. I really do love that amp.
What show were you at?

Answer:
I had a VH4S. It was a very cool amp in many ways, but the end, it was actually very neutral sounding. I kept trying to get more midrange character out of it...but it was too smooth and hi-fi sounding...no grind. I ended up selling it. I could buy a couple of full stacks for that price.

I kind of know what you mean about that.
Honestly I loved the VH4 with a Boost the best.
Channel 2 is God no matter which way you look at it though. It can literally do any style.
I would buy a single channel amp that was just that channel:love:

Answer:
What show were you at? It was Withered (sludge/death/doom). They both sounded fantastic really, so I shouldn't say it got pwned. But the 5150 was the clear winner, just cut through much more and had so much meat in it. Super warm. Then later on in the same show The Ocean used the VH4 (apparently they had been loaning it to Withered for the tour) with the other guy running a GT-3 into the power section of a Recto, and honestly between the two it was a tough contest. Suffice to say I wasn't that impressed with the VH4, purely from considering how much it is - but I also am quite aware that I was getting a rather limited exposure to the amp. I'd love to try one myself.

Channel 2 is a jem. I would suggest though to anyone that would be interested in this amp that they are real Guitar players or muscians.
I dont say that to be arrogant at all. Just that if you want to just play brootal metal then just get something simplier.
You you want to paint picture with sound then by all means look into this instrument;)

Answer:
Hell yeah, channel 2 is very underrated.

Absolutely true...The VH4 has four FANTASTIC channels, easily one of the finest amplifiers I have ever owned. That being said, when I play live...5150 II.

I don't know that I would use the word "neutral"...HI-FI? Absolutely, and I love it for that reason alone. The grind? Well, NOTHING grinds like a 5150...just my opinion.

Answer:
I had Diezel gas for about 8 years. Then, I finally got the opportunity to play the VH4, Herbert, and Einstein. As it turns out, I didn't like them that much.
They are great amps, and if I found one for a good price, I might pick one up. But, my playing style didn't jive well with them and the character of the amps didn't sit well with me either. On a recording, they sound fantastic. But, in person, I sort of lost my lust for them. I've been to shows where the band used Diezel and they sounded great. But, with me behind the reins...not so much.

What show were you at? It's hard for me to justify the price as well, but think of how many different high gainers, mid gain marshalls and various clean and "dirty clean" amps many of us go through here at the board to have access to those different tones. What does that cost? and how many amplifiers do you have to buy that you don't love to find one that you are really into? What does that cost?
I have had my Diezel VH4 for about a month and I honestly feel that I have 4 completely independent, truely kick ass, rich sounding channels that each have their own character (with possible exception of channels 3 and 4 being somewhat similar)...Pretty amazing for around $3000-$3400. Look people often pay $2000-$2500 for ONE really amazing channel...To me channel 3 alone is worth at least that...I'll gladly kick in another grand or so for a great clean channell and two other really nice options. BTW...your ears do not decieve you, the tones are indeed "bitchin"...Just my opinion.

Answer:
The price of Diezel is definatly on the rise.
Gas in general is getting rediculous.
I agree.

Answer:
FJA 5150 FTW!!! The VH4 has way more options, but for straight up raw growl it cant come close!!! IMO of course

I'm really gassing for a diezel aswell! I've just gone and bought an axe fx so its going to be a while i think. I was trying them out backstage at download and i still can't decide between the VH4 or herbert. The VH4 seemed more articulate. Should hopefully be trying both out for a weekend jam with my band to get a better for them and get a deal on one :D
