For Frank Prince: A Music Critic Dares to Expose Himself Musically - AUTOTUNE RELATED

Question:
Nothing special, but still admirable for courage, transparency, etc.
Check the audio.
DISCLAIMER: not a favorite critic of mine, but one whom I read regularly.

Answer:
This destroyed my wifes world when she was exposed to this for the first time...she thought all of these recording artists that she loved really could sing...
Unfortunately she was exposed to it while we were mixing my own vocals for the "Desert Center" album :o

Answer:
Well, they used to be able to..................
Autotune is great for fixing stuff that's not too far out, but unfortunately it's also allowed people who would have no chance at a recording career get in the running based on their looks, fame, etc.
Very interesting article, though. :thu:

Answer:
That audio clip would be a great introduction for people not familiar with autotune.

Answer:
I like Sasha Frere-Jones pretty well. Alex Ross is a better critic but I don't listen to that much classical music so a lot of times I am not familiar with the subject of his review.
I read this piece in the magazine last week, but being pretty familiar with what Auto-Tune can do I didn't check out the samples.

Answer:
Great, informative piece :thu:
