My Roland micro-cube died and I'm looking for a bedroom practice amp. I am chewing over a Vibro Champ, a Crate V5, and one of the new Roland RX cubes. That vid made me consider the Fender even more. Questions:
Did you modify your champ in any way? tubes, speaker?
How does this amp do at low volume? I would be using this amp strictly for solitary practice and this is one area where I require low volume.

On my 15 watt super champ, it's pretty damn good at low volumes, so I imagine the 5 watt vibro is even better in the bedroom. And as you turn it up past conversational levels it just gets so sweet.

If you are a commanding general in the Traynor YCV army you must have good taste in tone so I trust you. Plus the thing has effects, its 250? bucks and you can use it for so many styles. It's just a good buy, especially for practice. Also, if you decide it's not for you, it's resale value is much higher than the other amps you were considering.

I think it works fine when you back the master vol down - it does have a tube output section so you lose a little sparkle, but you still retain the character of your louder sound for the most part.
