:cop: I didn't realize that P. Diddy defined hip-hop.

Answer:
I didn't realize that P. Diddy defined hip-hop. Speaking of massive FAIL, I didnt say hip-hop, I said Rap.
I guess you dont know the difference
Rage Against The Machine are hip-hop, and are good :o
:cop:

Answer:
P-diddy being the definitive rap artist that he is, too.

:cop: Rap is a vocal delivery style that is frequently used alongside the musical style called hip-hop. Rage Against The Machine is not a hip-hop band, but they do frequently use rapping.

Answer:
Hmm, genreally speaking, last time i checked, RATM came under 'RapCore'
:poke:

:cop: You're a nice guy, but you're shockingly out of touch sometimes. This would be one of the aforementioned times.

Rap? Well....
And I was listening to rap before Ssereb was born :o I had friends that got into rap before it was ever mainstream, back in the late '70s (well, it wasnt mainstream in MI) I was forced to listen to it while we went cruisin', etc.
Never cared for it then, dont care for it now.
Sure, there are the occasional rap 'song' that makes you think "hey, that was clever", or gives you a chuckle when you hear it, etc. but those moments are rare, imo.
64th notes ftw :)

:cop: This is the most pathetic argument I've ever heard someone make about rap. I like you, but you're really reaching here.

Answer:
this thread delivers.

Answer:
i always enjoyed A Change of Seasons

Answer:
I don't think there is a dream theater album that is actually bad IMO.

Answer:
So it looks like rap is getting a lot of support here? I'll take a pass on all the idiotic fucktards with pants around thier ankles sneering at the cameras to show how cool their gold grillz is, waving a bunch of money around $250,000 cars and 350 skanky hos dancing around, waving guns etc. Incredibly pathetic and if I was african-american, I would be BEYOND embarrassed that this is the perception being put forth for my race.

:cop: It appears that you're reaching for an objective basis to support your argument here, but it's not going to fly. The best you can hope for is a relativist agreement to disagree, tamoore-style. On the other hand, if you actually are dim enough to seriously suggest that the presence of 64th notes grants a piece of music any validity at all, you've basically demonstrated that you and I are on drastically different planes of musical comprehension.

I'd rather listen to Dragonforce than Fiddy Cent, M&M, JZ, etc, etc. and I'm not a big Dragonforce fan by any means, my liking for power-metal not withstanding. I dont really care if you're ridin' in your 'Benz checkin' out da 'Hoes. I'd rather hear sweep picking :p
Any argument that I have here is that RATM IS hip-hop, not rap :poke:
