Jimmy James flew for the RAF!

Question:

607 Squadron at Martlesham Heath September 1941: the first operational squadron equipped with the 'Hurri Bomber'. Standing, from left: Sgt E.A.S. 'Stan' Perris, Sgt E.J. 'Johnny' Staerck, Sgt W.D. Jimmy James, ? ? P/O A.J. Beales, F/O J.N. Watson, F/o J. McGregor, P/O S.F. Mansfield.
Seated: Centre Sqdn Ldr G.D. Craig, ? far right F/O H.S. Mills ? Front on ground seated 2nd right, Fred Vivian Griffiths. Others unknown.
According to my Osprey Aircraft of the Aces #81 Griffon Spitfire Aces, He flew with No. 607 Sqn in Burma in 1942-44 claiming 2 destroyed, 1 shared, and 8 damaged, flying Hurricane IIc and Spitfire Mk.Vc's.
Later he flew Griffon-engined Spitfire's in Malaya against the insurgents post-WWII, is why he is in that volume.

Answer:
Uncorrect. I was with the 506th. Easy company. I jumped into Normandy the day before D-Day. Killed a Kraut with his own helmet.
I'm just sayin'.

I'm just sayin'. You could've flown down in Burma with Erroll Flynn until '44 then jumped with the 506th. :o

Answer:
To quote the map forums "That would mean his name was James James", interesting.

La-5 or La-7? looks like a La-5 but they look a bit similar anyway.
I need to try Warbirds, I have one of those blue-metallic Saitek joysticks with the separate throttle that I used for sims awhile back, but I havent hooked it up to this computer, and I've had this 'puter for 3 years. I also have some CH rudder pedals, I'm not sure if they'll work with the Saitek or not? (I used to use CH joystick/throttle, but my CH stick broke from hard use)

La-7. La7-3 to be precise. Fastest plane in the air below 8K, 3 x 20mm cannon, turns and rolls on a dime.... scary good :) Squirrely as hell though - the insane roll rate makes it basically unstable.
Your Saitek and CH pedals should both work fine with WB, as well as your 3 year old comp - WB isn't that graphic intensive, and there are lots of video options that can be turned down without ruining the experience.
