OT: Tornado touched down in my neighborhood
Question: Scary shit. The sirens were going off at 2:30 this morning. I thought nothing of it until my fiance turned on the tv and they were saying wall clouds and rotating clouds were spotted in the area so people should take shelter immediately. A house in my neighborhood lost their roof and a few others had trees down and windows busted out. I've lived in Nebraska my whole life, so tornados are nothing new. But I've never had one come this close to me before and never at 2:30 in the morning! That's very unusual. Answer: are you posting from OZ?? Answer: Wow, sorry to hear that. Glad to hear you and yours are okay, though. Tornadoes fascinate me as well as scare the living shit out of me! Of all the the natural disasters in the world, it is truly a mind boggling concept to have a funnel cloud come down out of the sky. Leslie Nielson still looks like he's in absolute shock (me likey your avatar!) EDIT: Oops, I meant Frank Drebin, sorry!!!!! Answer: same here, tornadoes split my area, going both north and south of my town, was pretty lucky Answer: same here, tornadoes split my area, going both north and south of my town, was pretty lucky this one Answer: WOW! Crazy video footage. Thanks for posting that, btw. If I had no financial worries or obligations, aside from songwriting and music, I would probably chase tornadoes. I'm glad that you are all alright, though. Answer: whats the deal with that vid dude? IS that you? Answer: and ya that was the one that wen south of my place. The other one went north in tho lake county, the whole storm kinda split around my town, we were very lucky Answer: I live in a trailer court and a couple of days ago we were getting some massive lightning bolts. Everyone was out watching when the sirens went off. My neighbors next door came home got their kids and took off. The neighbors on the other side, who moved here from Las Vegas, said storms don't bother them and the bushes between us stop the winds good enuff. I thought 'WHAT?'. Well we were all out watching and they thought every pointy cloud was a tornado. I then saw a long snakey one coming down and told them, "now that's a tornado"! When it hit the ground everything blew up, and that long smooth snake sucked stuff up and turned into a thick lumpy snake. You could see the crap riding up it's length. They freaked! I asked them, "you think those bushes are going to save your ass from that?". They were so amazed at trees torn out root ball and all. Answer: Scary shit. Our neighborhood didn't get hit but I heard around the Millard area they got fucked up. I jumped up and headed outside as soon as I heard the sirens, and I listened to it for a good 5 minutes straight until the rain started to hit me. Those sirens sounded AWESOME. EDIT: Oops, I meant Frank Drebin, sorry!!!!! lol, yeah...that avatar pic was taken just after he saw the tornado  But i hear what you're saying. As frightening as they are, I can't help but be intrigued by them. I wanted to go outside and watch it, but the old lady wasn't having any of that! We used to go storm chasing back in college (dumb I know, but it was really exciting) and I've seen some pretty cool shit. Answer: I live in the same area. I didn't realize there was a fellow Omaha resident on HCAF. Yeah, Millard got it the worst. I guess it started in the area by chalco (where I am) and moved east. It hit a few houses in Spring Hill and then the Millard area. I guess the Wal-Mart got hit too (no complaints there) But it also got a piece of the Target next to it. Answer: this one way off topic, but i see in ur sig that u have an edwards v, how do u like it? Answer: is Nordberg okay? Answer: way off topic, but i see in ur sig that u have an edwards v, how do u like it? Really great, best guitar i've owned so far. If i can, my next guitar will be another Edwards for sure, quality is real solid. Answer: are you posting from OZ?? Answer: Fuck tornado's. They scare the shit out of me. Answer: is Nordberg okay? Doctors say that Nordberg has a 50-50 chance of living, though there's only a 10 percent chance of that. Answer: Tornados are some scary bastards. Hurricanes give you a few days warning.( unless you live in New Orleans, nobody saw that coming :freak:) Tornados are like weathers drive-by's. Answer: there goes the neighborhood.
