What bands/artists do you like that critics hate?
Question: It doesn't matter if it's mainstream critics or indie ones, which bands do you like in spite of what they say? Answer: all of them pretty much Answer: Rush. Answer: When I was in high school, pretty much all the bands I dug, the critics hated, and vice versa. I stopped reading/listening to critics loooooong ago. Answer: I'm debating if Led Zep counts as one of the bands I described. I know that there were a lot of critics that shit all over them in their heyday, but I don't hear that much these days. Answer: I'm debating if Led Zep counts as one of the bands I described. Answer: All of them, except what Melodicrock likes. That reviewer there seems to be spot on with my tastes. Answer: I was having the same debate about Stone Temple Pilots. They took a lot of shit for being a Pearl Jam ripoff at first (which I never really understood) but after that the critics started to warm to them. Answer: Do critics even dislike things anymore? I picked up last month's Spin and there wasn't a negative review to be found. I guess that's what happens when your major advertisers are owned by the same companies that own all the record labels. When I used to get Rolling Stone I figured if something got 2 1/2 stars it was shit. Everything always got 3 or 4 stars. If they were friends with the editors it got 5. Answer: ELO. They are great. Always were. Answer: Stone Temple Pilots. The critics shat all over them when they were in their prime. I liked them then, and I like them now. Answer: I mostly listen to CA reggae/punk/hiphop, critics can't review a band without saying they aren't as good as sublime, missing the point... Stopped reading reviews a looooooong time ago. Answer: the darkness skynyrd Answer: Rush. Rush and Van Halen. The critics generally hate Tool, as well. Answer: ELO. They are great. Always were. Hell's Ya!:thu: They are fantastic live! Answer: (British) music critics are a mob of theory-free, witless, posturing Nathan Barleys, nothing is too good/shite for these twats to approve/disapprove of in the (futile) hope of creating a stir. They've been that way for twenty odd years. I diskard them with Molesworthesque vigour. Answer: Black Sabbath :rawk: Answer: Black Sabbath :rawk: they've become respectable. as a young punk in the 80s, i would always hear how bands like led zeppelin and black sabbath were a joke. if you ever see a copy of the rolling stone album guide circa 1992, it's worth a chuckle. they give almost every sabbath album two stars.
