Hot Sax Baffles?

Question:
Hot Sax Baffles?
Anybody tried these?

Answer:
Those look like Powertone baffles, WWBW used to carry them for much cheaper than that ebay ad. Runyon/Brilhart also sell replacement baffles but they probably will need work to fit in most pieces.

Answer:
Better than Putty?
Dude, if you try them, let us know. I keep seeing lines about putting "putty" in your mouth piece to create a baffle. This product seems like thats what it will do (without the mess of "putty"). As far as cost is concerned, I've dropped thousands on saxes and mouthpieces, shoot, what's ten bucks!?!??

Answer:
I can't see spending the money on one of those when I have gotten good results using dental wax.
Then you can at least modify it to the sound & volume you are looking for.
How could it possibly work for any sax, alto , tenor or bari then a bari mpc is three times as large?

Answer:
maybe two times as large.

Answer:
PowerTones used to come in sizes. I used one in an alto Meyer for a while. Since they come in packs of 3, I stuck one in my Bass Clar MP and liked the results. They are a good product. Unlike putty, they keep their shape when touched during mouthpiece cleaning. Putty and wax is more flexible which is a pro/con. Putty or wax only costs $2 for enough to do several mouthpieces.
